The web site provides questions that help to guide users step by step through pre-writing, writing, organizing, editing, rewriting, and publishing.

Completed essays may be transferred to a word processing program, HTML editor, or e-mail application.

This web site is based on the popular writing skills program, Essay Punch. The complete Essay Punch program teaches students to write persuasive, informative, and descriptive essays.

The current topic asks students to write a persuasive essay in response to the following situation.

A teacher, a student, and a member of the town council appear on a local TV talk show and debate whether television does more good than harm, or more harm than good. The program's host invites the audience to write in with their views.

This topic comes from the "persuasion" section of Essay Punch.
